Ernie (Bones) Francis age 73 of Altus, Oklahoma died September 26, 1969 at Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma. He was born May 5, 1896 in Texas to William and Synthia (Estes) Francis. He married Grace Hogan September 16, 1916. He was a conductor for the Katy railroad 43 years, retiring in 1959. He had been a member of the Mosonic Lodge since 1922.
Funeral services for Ernie (Bones) Francis are scheduled for September 28, 1969 at 2:00pm in Tim Chapel, Altus, officiated by Rev. Lonzo Battles. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Ernie (Bones) Francis is survived by one son Howard Francis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter Mrs. Roger Morean, Altus, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three brothers, Herman Francis, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Travis Francis, Mangum, Oklahoma; Coleman Francis, Hollywood, California; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Adair, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Mrs. Paul Gilchrist, Burkburnett, Texas.
