Emma Jean (Randolph) Harmon, 79, of Eldorado, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013, at her home in Chickasha.
Jean was born on April 15, 1934, in Eldorado, to Guy and Gladys (Goss) Randolph and attended Eldorado Schools. On November 3, 1950, she married John Harmon, the love of her life, and they spent the next forty-three wonderful years together before his death on July 2, 1994. John and Jean were in the retail business most of their married life, at Gibson Discount Center in Altus and the Lawton and Altus Surplus City. They also spent several years with the Fox Insurance Salvage in Ada, Oklahoma. Jean enjoyed traveling with John to spend time with the family. Jean had a love for the game of basketball and also had a love for cooking for everyone who came into her home. A member of the New Life Christian Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma, Jean served as a caretaker for John and many others for many years of her life.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, John and one sister, Bea Hans, she is survived by her daughter Kathy Black and husband Derrell of Chickasha; her son, David Harmon and wife Kathie of Mansfield, Texas; three granddaughters, Heather Speer, Tiffany Forster and Brandi Kelso; a step-granddaughter Tiffany Chrismon; two grandsons, Justin Harmon and Isiah Harmon; four great grandsons, Kade Forster, Tyler "Spud" Forster, Conner Forster and Britton Kelso; one great granddaughter, Gina Speer; one sister, Camilla (Randolph) Jackson of Altus; one brother, Jerry Hamersley and wife Wanda of Eldorado along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Jean Harmon will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at the First Baptist Church of Eldorado with Pastor Pete Wylie of Eldorado First Baptist and Pastor Ezell Nelson of the Chickasha New Life Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Eldorado.
