Obituary for Elsie Autry
Elsie Beatrice Evans Autry was born February 16th, 1923 at Raleigh, NC. She was the daughter of James and Flora Evans. She died March 25, 1994 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She married Lester Autry December 28, 1946 at Fayetteville, NC. She joined the Altus First Baptist Church 1971 and was a member of the Adult 6 Sunday School Dept. She returned to Altus to live in 1970 coming here from Goldsboro, NC. She had resided in many places as she and her husband Lester had served in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Altus with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Interment will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Survivors include: her husband, Lester Autry of Altus, OK; one son, Michael James Autry and wife Janet of Alexandria, LA; two grandchildren, Michael James II and Brandy Joan; one great-grandson, Jamie Autry.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, James E. and Flora Evans; two brothers, Woodrow and N.T. Evans.
