Obituary for Elmer Newton Edwards
Elmer Newton Edwards age 68, of Blair, Oklahoma passed away in Hobbs, New Mexico, April 4, 1965. He was born November 18, 1896 in Springfield, Missouri, to Edward W. and Lyina (Russell) Edwards. He married Mrs. Edwards and she preceded him in death in 1945. He had been a resident of southwest Oklahoma since 1914. Elmer was a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion.
Funeral services for Elmer Newton Edwards are scheduled for April 18, 1965 at 2:00pm at the Baptist Church in Blair, Oklahoma officiated by Rev J.C. Crabbe. Burial will follow in the Blair Cemetery under the directions of Tims Funeral Home.
Elmer Newton Edwards is survived by two sons, Roy Edwards, Blair, Oklahoma; Charles Edwards, Blair, Oklahoma; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Pruitt of Hobbs New Mexico; Mrs. Birdena Watts, Hanford California; twenty-one grandchildren, one brother Roy Edwards, Security California; one sister, Mrs. Florence Chitty, Phillips, Texas.
