Obituary for Elmer Hoover Staggs
Funeral services for Mr. Elmer Hoover Staggs, age 37, were set for 2:30 P.M., Tuesday at the First Christian Church in Elk City with the Reverend Glenn Cowperthwaite officiating. Burial will be in the Elk City Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of Martin Funeral Home.

Mr. Staggs was born December 28th, 1930 in Roosevelt, OK. He married the former Billie Jo Shelton February 18, 1949 in Vernon, TX. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Masonic Lodge, American Legion and Elk City Lions Club. He was the victim of a car accident when his automobile struck a parked pickup truck 8.3 miles south of Altus on U.S. Highway 283.
HJe was dead on arrival at Jackson County Memorial Hospital following the crash.

Survivors include: his wife, Billie Jo, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Londa Jolene Stevens of Dayton, Ohio and Sharilyn K. of the home; one son, David Mack of the home; his mother, Mrs. Roy Cole of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Mrs. Leon Anderson of Lone Wolk and Mrs. Ray Huddleston of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Bob of Oklahoma City, Mack of Blair and Garland Beavers of California.
