Obituary for Ella Mae Brunson
Ella Mae Brunson of Temple, Texas passed away September 27, 1995 after a long illness. May was born May 2, 1911 in Parsons, Labette County, Kansas. She lived in several places before the family settled in Altus, Oklahoma with her father Charles T. Brunson, her mother, Clara Seveke Brunson , brothers Leonard, and Charles Herman, and sister Fra Barr, who have all preceded her in death. Her brother Harry Neil of Sulphur, Oklahoma survives her. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Altus and graduated from Altus High School in 1929. In the 1940's she went to nursing school at the Scott and White school of nursing in Temple, Texas, where she graduated as a registered nurse. She worked at Scott and White Hospital until her retirement.
She is also survived by two nieces, Jean Taylor and Virginia Hickerson, nephews Jerome Neil and Billy Joe Barr all of Midwest City, Oklahoma and a number of grandneices and nephews.
Graveside services were held Saturday, September 30, 1995 at the Altus Cemetery Altus, Oklahoma at 1:00pm with Rev. Nancy Tomlinson officiating/
