Obituary for Elizabeth Mariah Mahan
Mrs. Elizabeth Mariah Mahan, age 88, of 501 Navajoe Rd, Altus, died Thursday morning at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon at the Grace United Methodist Church, officiated by the Reverend David Ross Clewell, the Reverend Susan Ross Clewell and assisted by the Reverend C. C. Gober. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
Born January 10th, 1893 at Wewoka, Oklahoma Indian Territory, she moved as a child by covered wagon to Woodward County and was a part of one of the pioneer families in that area. She was married at Quinlan, OK on May 31, 1914 to the late James Edwin Mahan who died in 1980. They had moved to Altus in 1958. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: three sons, Maurice Mahan, the Reverend James Mahan, both of Altus; John F. Mahan of Mulvane, KS; one daughter, Mrs. Leon (Lola) Fritzler, of Derby, KS; one brother, Mr. Burt Robertson of Mountain View, MS; nineteen grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church.
