Obituary for Edythe Pearl Canada
Edythe Pearl Canada was born June 10, 1921 in Altus, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and Ethel Helen (Gossett) Robbins. She died July 21, 2004 in Altus. She married Wilbur Leonard Canada, December 9, 1939 in Altus and he preceded her in death, July 22, 1983. She was a life long resident of Altus and Jackson County. She was a Baptist and had worked at Woolsworths, Firestone, Lee Office Supplies, and R.C. Bottling. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, watching television and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include: one son, Mike and his wife Georgia of Altus, Oklahoma; one daughter, Sue Watson and husband Hugh of Altus, Oklahoma; one brother, Clifford W. (Dub) Robbins of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Lois Youngblood of Palmdale, California and Vonnie Cotner of Altus, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Lynda Buckner and husband Tom of Van Buren, Arkansas and Kim Curtis and husband Brooks of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one great-granddaughter, Shawnaka Henderson of Van Buren, Arkansas. A host of other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters.
Services for Edythe Canada are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004 in the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Sam Starr officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery. The family of Edythe Canada will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, Friday, July 23, 2004 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
