Funeral Services for Dura Burnside, age 87, longtime resident of Duke, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 1996 at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Prairie Hill Cemetery. Rev. Mark L. Sewell will officiate.
Mrs. Burnside passed away October 29, 1996 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Mrs. Burnside was born December 2nd, 1908 in Wills Point, Texas to Lafayette and Rosa Lena (Green) Bass. She married John Albert Burnside in February of 1927 in Duke, Oklahoma. Mrs. Burnside was a cook for the Duke Public Schools, and a member of the Duke Methodist Church. Lowell Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, John Albert, October 11, 1943; one son, Leon Burnside in 1972.
Survivors include: a daughter, Helen McElvany of Ft. Worth, TX; a son, Elvin Burnside of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Lillie Mae Marquart of Duke, Oklahoma; two grandchildren.
