Douglas Dewey Barnett, age 65, of Altus, Oklahoma, died December 30, 1963, at Memorial Hospital in Altus. He was born January 30, 1898 in Hess, Oklahoma to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Barnett. He married Alpha Coda June 5, 1928 and lived in Jackson County since 1945. He was a Self Employed Commerical Painter, member of Painters Local 1434, Veteran of world War I and a member of the Odd Fellows.
Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife Alpha of the home, four sons, Gerald Barnett of Altus, Oklahoma; Travis Barnett of Altus, Oklahoma; Billy Barnett of Dallas, Texas; Kenneth Barnett of Faxon, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, two brothers, Col. James C. Barnett of Santa Anna, California; Bob Barnett, Rush Springs, Oklahoma; three sisters, Mrs Mable Hales, Redlands, California; Mrs. Noel Kruger, Oklahoma, City, Oklahoma; Mrs. June Base, Newkirk, Oklahoma.
Funeral Services for Mr. Douglas Barnett are scheduled for January 1, 1964 at 2:00pm in the First Baptist Church, Altus, Oklahoma, with Rev. Everett Smalts officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
