Obituary for Dottie J. Bobo

Dottie J. Bobo, former resident of Petersburg, West Virginia and longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma, age 80, left her earthly home to join the arms of the Lord on May 19th, 2023 while at Magnolia Nursing and Therapy.
Dottie was born on December 26th, 1942 to Josephine Kuykendall in Petersburg, West Virginia. She and her brother were raised there and it is where she graduated high school. Not long after high school, she married the love of her life, Bydler Bobo in their hometown of Petersburg. Together they lived in Alexandria, Virginia; Savannah, Georgia; Dover, Delaware; Hampton, Virginia; and finally Altus, Oklahoma where they stayed until his passing in 2018. She now sees him again at the pearly gates. In their 58 years of marriage, they had two sons and four grandchildren who they took great pride in. Dottie loved her family more than anything and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them.
Dottie was an incredible woman and a hard worker. She started her career in Altus at Red River Federal Credit Union and retired in 2018 from there as Senior Vice President. Dottie was also a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization sisterhood. PEO focuses on providing educational opportunities for female students worldwide and it was important for Dottie to be a part of women helping other women succeed. She was also an active member of the Southwest Technology Center for 30 years, retiring from their board just this year. Dottie dedicated her heart and life to God. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Altus, Oklahoma for many years. She held the teachings close to her heart and used them in her day-to-day life.
In her free time Dottie enjoyed traveling and wanted to see as much as she could of this big beautiful world. She also enjoyed attending plays and musicals as well as decorating her home. Her favorite way to pass the time was to spend it with her grandchildren and friends. Dottie made sure to leave everlasting memories with all those who met her.
Dottie is preceded in death by her husband Bydler Bobo and mother Josephine (Kuykendall) Williams.
Left to honor her memories are her sons Robert and Brian Bobo; daughters-in-law Tracey and Cammie Bobo; her grandchildren Braden, Regan, Braxton, and Brityn Bobo; and her brother Ron Mason - as well as many other loved family members and friends.
