Obituary for Dorothy May Heil
Dorothy Heil Inge, 76, a longtime resident of Mangum, Oklahoma, passed away May 13, 2021 at Mangum Regional Hospital. Dorothy was born May 15, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to Jessie Goacher and Anna Bernice (Pernell) Goacher. She was the eldest of seven children. At an early age she moved to California. While attending high school Dorothy met the love of her life, David Maxwell Inge, Sr. From this chance encounter a love would blossom that would last a lifetime.
Being a caretaker was who Dorothy was. She helped take care of her younger brothers and sisters, then she chose to take care of people professionally entering the nursing field. She was a long time nurse’s assistant for Elk City Hospital. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her patients; she was always trying to help them whether it was bringing them food to their home or helping them with their basic needs she was always a helping others.
She and David enjoyed taking their children to the beach, camping, fishing, riding horses, and raising livestock. Dorothy loved all animals and took immense joy in raising horses, chickens, pig, cows and goats.
Another huge aspect of Dorothy’s life was being a foster Mom. The Heil family took in countless children and once a child entered their home, they were family and always treated as one of her own, even after they left her care. In 2008 Dorothymoved to Magnum, Oklahoma to be near her family who had moved to the area.
Dorothy was a proud member of the First United Methodist Church of Mangum. She was baptized on May 15, 2015.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband David Maxwell Inge, Sr.; daughter, Anna Bernice Inge; brother, Bobby Goacher; four sisters, Louise Goacher, Kathy Boacher, Daisy Goacher, Anna Goacher; and grandson, Jessie Lee Inge Jr.
Left to honor Dorothy’s memory are, three sons, Jessie Lee Inge, Sr, David Maxwell Inge, Jr., Michael Anthony Inge; two daughters, Dorothy May Lofton, Summer Blessing Webster; a brother, Billy Goacher; thirteen grandchildren , Amanda Inge, David Inge III, Brianna Inge, Albuny Smith, Nathan Inge, Tyler Inge, Breeanna Lofton, Chris Lofton, Karisma Acuna, Kayden Acuna, Izaiah Acuna, Logan Acuna; seven great grandchildren, Nataley, Ariel, Jackquilin, Thomas, Dylan, Savanaha, and Baby Noah Jr. special friends, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends whom she considered family.
A come and go visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2021 at Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church of Mangum, Oklahoma with Reverend David L. Gordon II officiating.
