Donald Leon Mardis, 62, passed away Saturday, May 6, 1995, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Donald was born March 1., 1933, in Clovis, New Mexico, the son of Homer L. and Ione "DeOliveria" Mardis.
Mr. Mardis enlisted in the Air Force in 1952 and retired in 1979 as a Master Sergeant.
On September 16, 1956, Donald and Barbara Graham were united in marriage in Toccoa, Georgia. He was currently working as an Instructor for Flight Safety on the Altus Air Force Base.
Mr. Mardis was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Davis.
He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 38 years; one son, Robert D. Mardis of Altus; two daughters and one son-in-law, Teresa L Mardis of Fort Rucker, Al. and Mary and David Stager of Altus; two brothers, Wayne Mardis of Corallis, New Mexico and Jerry Mardis of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Patty Burns of Las Cruses, New Mexico and Dorris Fishback of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and six grandchildren, Jeannie, Brandon, Josh, Elizabeth, Ethan, and Christopher.
