Obituary for Denzil Paul Dill

Denzil Paul Dill, of Arlington, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at Medical City Arlington Hospital, surrounded by the love and memories of a life well lived. He was 76 years old.

Denzil was born on March 19, 1950, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Claud Marshall Dill II and Willie Lois (Bryson) Dill. He spent his early years in southwest Oklahoma and attended school in Ron until 1964, when a devastating tornado changed the course of the community. He later attended Hollis High School, graduating with the Class of 1968.

Following high school, Denzil pursued studies in pharmacy in Weatherford, Oklahoma at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

While helping on the family farm throughout his youth, he discovered two lifelong gifts: an exceptional work ethic and an extraordinary mind. His remarkable memory, mathematical abilities, and attention to detail made pharmacy a natural calling.

Denzil devoted his entire adult life to serving others as a pharmacist. Throughout his distinguished career, he worked in numerous pharmacies across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, earning the respect of coworkers, patients, and friends alike. At the age of 55, Denzil suffered a stroke that presented significant challenges. True to his determined nature, he worked tirelessly through rehabilitation with the goal of returning to the profession he loved. His perseverance paid off, and he continued working until his retirement at age 60.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Denzil was a man of many talents and interests. He possessed an incredible knowledge of farming and agriculture; a passion rooted in his upbringing. He was known by family and friends for his sharp intellect, remarkable recall of facts and figures, and uncanny ability with numbers.

Denzil also enjoyed competition and recreation. Taught by his father during his teenage years, he became an accomplished pool player and participated in tournaments, including competitions in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was equally dedicated to physical fitness and enjoyed running marathons, embracing both the discipline and challenge they required.

A man of faith, Denzil was raised in the Methodist Church in Hollis, Oklahoma, where he was baptized and developed the Christian values that guided him throughout his life.

Denzil was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, Claud Marshall Dill II and Willie Lois (Bryson) Dill; his brothers, Jimmy "Jim" Gene Dill and Billy Frank Dill; and his sisters, Patricia Wood and Barbara James.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his brother, Claud Russell Dill and wife Linda; his sister, Suzy Sheriff; his sister-in-law, Karen (Kite) Dill; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will remember him for his intelligence, determination, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he served throughout his life.

Though he never married, Denzil touched countless lives through his work, friendships, and family relationships. His legacy of perseverance, knowledge, and quiet strength will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
