Dennis Wayne Berry, 74, resident of Mangum, Oklahoma passed away on September 26, 2022 in Mangum.
Dennis was born on June 1,1948 in Granite, Oklahoma to his parents, Hugh "T-Bone" Berry and Lee Ella (Denton) Berry. He grew up seven miles north of Granite and graduated high school there. During his work career, Dennis was employed at the Mangum Police Department, Greer County Sheriff's Department, and he worked for the Farm Bureau Insurance Company. Later, he worked in the oil field. Dennis raised cattle for several years following his retirement from the oil field in 2014.
Dennis served in the Oklahoma State National Guard and was a member of the Red River Cowboy Church. He married Shirley Ann Reagan on April 22,1968 in Wellington, Texas. Their loving union spanned 54 beautiful years.
Of the many things Dennis enjoyed doing, he was most passionate about his family. He was completely devoted to his wife, son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His love and presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Ella Berry; his two brothers: Alvin Berry and Red Berry; three sisters: Bobbie Blasingame. Mary Blaine, and Carolyn Coleman; and his brother-in-law, Ronnie Reagan.
Survivors include his best friend and loving wife of 54 years, Shirley Berry; son, Chris Wayne Berry; Two grandchildren: Brooke Berry Mitchell and her husband,Jared, and Darren Berry; Great- grandchildren, Mason Mitchell, Ryan Mitchell, Blakelee Mitchell and Jace Wayne Berry; Sister-in-law, Cathy Franklin; Brother-in-law, Allen Reagan; Aunts and uncles, Stella Uptergrove, Bertha and Preston Cooley and Raymond and Lila Willliams; Several nieces, nephews cousins and other relatives, friends and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in honor of Dennis to the Willow Cemetery Association.
Open visitation will be 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2022 at Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. October 1, 2022 at Red River Cowboy Church, Mangum, Oklahoma. Interment will follow to Willow Cemetery, Willow, Oklahoma.
Services have been entrusted to Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
