Obituary for Della Marie McDonald
Della Marie McDonald, 67, of Altus, Oklahoma returned to her heavenly home on June 30, 2019 after a valiant battle with a lengthy illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported and ultimately gave her peace. Della was born on July 5, 1951 to Leroy and Aserlee Rayford in Stuttgart, Arkansas. She graduated from Holman High School in 1969 and shortly after married the love of her life, Lewis McDonald in Stuttgart, Arkansas, of this marriage, they had five daughters, Tonya, Leandra, Chandra, Utrena and Talitha. Della and Lewis were stationed numerous places during their marriage; they were stationed in Germany, Kansas, Texas, Washington D.C and finally, Altus, Oklahoma. Della worked as a pharmacy tech for twenty-seven years before retiring in 2016. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, watching Hallmark Christmas movies all year long, antique and thrift store shopping and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Della was greeted at the gates of heaven by her parents; brother, James Williams; Sister, Alice Williams; and Brother-in-law, Wornie Hardnett.
Left to honor Della's memory are her husband of 49 years, Lewis McDonald, Five Daughters; Tonya Young and husband Gerald, Leandra High and husband Montez, Chandra Whitfield and husband Darrell, Utrena Woodard and Talitha McDonald; Brother, Ezekiel Williams; Sister, Rosie Hardnett; 14 grandchildren, Tyrique Jones, Trajan Woodard, Brandy Woodard, Tybriah Bluefer, Maleah Bluefer Jones, Gerelle Blufer, Gezar Bluefer, Nathan Blufer, Sasha Whitfield, Sariah Feaster, Nia Young, Julien Young, Taylar McDonald, and Jasmine Pierce; two great-grandchildren, R'Meire and R'Mon Lenard.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 10:00a.m. Monday, July 8, 2019 at Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel.
