Deborah Ann Medina, age 63, of Mangum, passed away, Sunday afternoon, November 6, 2016, at Quartz Mountain Medical Center, in Mangum.
Mrs. Medina was born in Pryor, Oklahoma on December 31, 1952, to George Wesley and Martha Melinda (Hinkle) Wood. Growing up in Chouteau, Oklahoma, where Debbie began school, the family moved to Pryor her sophomore year. A caregiver most of her life, Debbie received her certified nurse’s aide certification and later lived in Amarillo, Quanah and Chillicothe, Texas. On July 3, 1985, she married the love of her life, Ignacio Medina, Jr., and they spent the next thirty-one wonderful years together before her death. Debbie loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and also enjoyed her early morning coffee, dancing and her jewelry.
Preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Herbert Earl Wilson, she is survived by her husband Ignacio Medina, Jr., of the home; four children, Jeff Wilson and wife Ginger of Childress, Texas, Jimmie Simmons and wife Shannon of Comanche, Texas, Melissa Boyd of Mangum and Joshua Todd Simmons of Altus; one sister, Katherine Sue Newsom and husband Randy of Quanah, Texas and one brother, Daryl Lee Wilson and wife Melba of Arkoma, Oklahoma; twelve grandchildren, Chase, Madison, Savanah, Sara, Sadie, Charlie, Serenity, Colton, Harlie Nicole, Joseph, Able and Austin along with many other relatives and friends.
In keeping with Debbie’s wishes, cremation services have been completed and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Quanah, Texas under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, in Quanah. Local arrangements and cremation services were under the direction of Greer Funeral Home, of Mangum.
