He was a student at Altus, High School and a member of That Altus Band, Stage Band, Pep Band. Spanish Club, Jets, Biology Club, Chemistry Lab Assistant, Boy's State Alternate.
Funeral services for David Lon Byrd is scheduled for July 15, 1969 at 10:00am at Elm and Hudson Church of Christ, Altus, officiated by Jack Cox and W. S. Boyett. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
David Lon Byrd is survived by his parents Mr and Mrs. Ben Byrd of Altus; three brothers, Benny Byrd, Paul Byrd, Timothy Byrd; grandparents, Mrs. W. f. Griffis, Altus, Oklahoma; Mr and Mrs John Nickell, Lamont, California.
