David Clive "Bud" Selby


D.C. (Bud) Selby was born June 14, 1904 at Hess, Oklahoma. He died November 5, 1993 in DeSota, Texas. He was the son of James and Emma Selby. He graduated from Hess High School. He married Era Mae McWhorter January 28, 1929 at Memphis, Texas. He was the manager of the gin of the Farmers Co-Op. He served with the Co-op for 32 years before his retirement. He had been a member of the 1st Baptist Church since 1961.

Services are scheduled for 11 am Monday at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Interment will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims funeral Home.

Bud is survived by his wife Era Mae Selby; children, Dearl Selby and Glena of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Donald Selby and Ruth Ann of DeSota, Texas; Coy Selby and Debbie of Mesquite, Texas; six grandchildren, Keith Selby, Larry Selby, Gretchen Littlejohn, Kent Selby, Heather Nunez and Shawn Selby.

Mr. Selby was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, four brothers.
