Obituary for Darcy Lee White Sr.
Darcy Lee White, Sr., a longtime resident of Mangum, Oklahoma, peacefully entered into eternal rest on June 29, 2026, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was seventy -one years old.
Born on August 28, 1954, in Mangum, Oklahoma, Darcy was the son of Luther Odell White and Stella Mae (Thompson) White. He was raised in Mangum, where he learned the values that would guide him throughout his life faith, hard work, honesty, and an unwavering devotion to family. He attended Mangum Public Schools and proudly graduated with the Class of 1973, maintaining a lifelong appreciation for the friendships and memories formed during those years.
Fate would strike in 1973 when Darcy met a knew girl in town, Lillie Christine White. They would be united in marriage on June 1975 in Mangum, Oklahoma. They would be blessed with two children, Darcy Jr, and Linda.
Following graduation, Darcy began his career in the furniture business, working for Darby's Furniture and serving families in both Mangum and Altus. He later worked for the Co-Op in Lone Wolf before finding his calling with the Oklahoma Highway Department. Through twenty-three years of dedicated service, Darcy earned the respect of his coworkers through his dependability, strong work ethic, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He took pride in every task entrusted to him and retired in 2006 with the satisfaction of a job well done.
While Darcy worked hard throughout his life, the things he treasured most could never be measured by a paycheck. His faith was the foundation upon which he built his life. Having been baptized at the Church of God in Mangum, his relationship with the Lord remained a source of strength and comfort through every season of life.
Above all else, Darcy loved his family. He was happiest when surrounded by those he loved, whether gathered around the dinner table, sharing stories and laughter, or simply spending quiet time together. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy, and the love he had for them knew no bounds. He delighted in watching them grow, encouraging them, celebrating every milestone, and making each one feel deeply loved.
Darcy also found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending peaceful days fishing, where patience and quiet reflection suited his gentle spirit. He never missed an opportunity to enjoy professional wrestling, appreciating not only the excitement inside the ring but also the humor, drama, and pageantry that made every match entertaining. He was equally content settling in to watch a classic Western, enjoying stories of honor, courage, and simpler times.
Those who knew Darcy will remember a man whose quiet strength spoke louder than words. He possessed a kind heart, a warm smile, and a gentle nature that made others feel welcome. He believed in treating people with respect, working hard, and loving his family without reservation. He leaves to cherish his memory of his daughter, Linda Douthit and her husband, William; his son, Darcy Lee White, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie; his sister, Lillia Williams; and his brother, Gene White.

Darcy was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Odell White and Stella Mae White; his brother, Elvin White; his sister Bonita, his grandson, Michael White; his beloved wife, Lillie Christeen White.
Although his physical presence will be deeply missed, the example Darcy set through his unwavering faith, tireless work ethic, generous heart, and unconditional love for his family will continue to live on in those who knew him. His life was one of humble service, quiet devotion, and enduring love a legacy that will continue to inspire future generations. Though his earthly journey has ended, the memories he created and the love he shared will forever remain in the hearts of those blessed to call him husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
