Danny Thomas Fletcher, age 63, of Elk City, formerly of Granite, passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 5, 2012, at his residence in Elk City.
Mr. Fletcher was born in Eugene, Oregon on March 16, 1949, to Willie and Mary Alice (Brooks) Fletcher. Growing up in Granite and attending Granite School, Danny spent most of his life framing houses and doing carpentry work. There were times he would leave the construction industry and go to the oil fields, but would soon return to the building trade. From 1997 until 2002 he lived in New Mexico, but soon returned to Elk City where he lived until his death.
Preceded in death by his parents and one sister Sherolyn Raulston, he is survived by his longtime companion, Ruby Jones, of Elk City; two sons, Danny Fletcher and wife Suzanne of Granite and Shane Fletcher of Granite; one daughter, Krystal Colson and husband Bill of Granite; seven grandchildren, Cole Fletcher, Angela Berry and husband Casey, Britney Martinez, Cylee Landers, Logan Fletcher, Mason Fletcher, Elisha Fletcher, all of Granite; seven great grandchildren, Jace, Quade, Cali, Hayden, Braylen, Rayden and Lander; three sisters, Alta Lou Akers of Olustee, Donna Terry and Husband Mike of Mangum and Martha McNich and husband Shawn of Granite; one brother, Steve Fletcher of Granite along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Danny Thomas Fletcher will be at 2 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2012, at the Granite First Baptist Church with Pastor David Hogg officiating. Services are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Granite.
