Daniel Moses King, known to everyone as "Danny", age 86, died on Monday, March 21, 2016, at his home, in Altus. A visitation will be held at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, 1100 E. Tamarack Road on Thursday evening, March 24, 2016, from 6 until 7 p.m. Interment will be at 10 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2016, at Ft. Sill National Cemetery, in Elgin. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2016, at Grace United Methodist Church, 620 S. Park Lane.
Danny was born in Winchester, New Hampshire, on June 7, 1929 to Robert and Florence King. Graduated from Keene High School, New Hampshire, and joined the United States Air Force in 1947. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Air Force for 21 years, rising to the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Worked for Maurice Mahan Real Estate, Moberly Oil Company, and the First State Bank for 20 years. Long-time member and Past District Governor of the Lions Club
Survived by wife Carolyn King of 63 years, son Bruce King and wife Vickie of Broken Arrow, son Neil King and wife Heather of Wagoner, son Glenn King of Clovis, NM, daughter Sharon Ames and husband Brian of Altus, 6 grandchildren, Erica Trammell, Dillon King, Dalton King, Damon King, Hannah Ames, and Bethany Ames, and 3 great-grandchildren Lily King, Ryker King, and Aspen King. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Ethel and brothers Stanley and Carroll. Hobbies included camping, travelling, sea cruising, military history, Altus Band Parents, and clock repair. He was a friend to all and never met a stranger. Donations can be made in honor of the deceased to Grace United Methodist Church or the Altus Lions Club.
