Obituary for Colene Lee Washington
Colene Lee Washington, age 81 passed away Sunday, October 30, 2005 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
She was born September 1, 1924 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Reverend and Mrs Levi Stephenson. Colene was baptized and accepted Christ at a young age. Colene had lived in the Altus Area for many years.
She married Lewie Orville Lee on February 12, 1946. He preceded her in death January 21, 1984. On December 17, 1989 in Altus, Oklahoma Colene and Simuel Washington were in marriage.
even though she had no children of her own she raised Roxie (Judy) Roddy, Kathy Kennedy, Carla Adams and Ronnie Wilson.
She leaves to cherish her memories; her husband Simuel Washington, children Roxie Roddy and here husband Jake of Riverside, California, Kathy Kennedy of Dallas, Texas, Carla Adams and Ronnie Wilson both of Altus, Oklahoma; brother Robert Lee Stephenson; her special brother and sister-in-laws, Marion and Etta Lee Larnell and Ruth Lee and Chester Carter. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
She touched many lives with her special qualities and heart of gold. Her generosity was immeasurable through God' grace, and the light of her love shined down upon many lives.
Funeral services for Colene Lee Washington are scheduled for Saturday, November 5, 2005 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home 6:00pm to 7:30 pm.
