Obituary for Clyde Lee Baker Jr.
Clyde Lee Baker, Jr., affectionately known as "Lee" by family and friends, passed away June 2, 2026, at his home in Boydsville, Oklahoma. A man larger than life in both personality and heart, Lee's legacy is one of laughter, creativity, adventure, and unwavering love for his family.
Lee was born on February 5, 1977, to Clyde Lee Baker, Sr. and Peggy (Everets) Baker in Austin, Texas, and spent his childhood throughout South Texas, eventually making his home in Lolita, Texas. He graduated from Calhoun High School in Port Lavaca, Texas, in 1996. Growing up along the Texas Gulf Coast helped shape the easygoing spirit and adventurous nature that would define him throughout his life.
Following high school, Lee began a career with Inteplast Group, where he dedicated sixteen years of hard work and determination. Starting in the railroad car operations, he worked his way up to become a slitter operator, earning the respect of coworkers through his strong work ethic and willingness to tackle any challenge.
On July 4, 2011, Lee made one of the best decisions of his life when he moved to Altus, Oklahoma, to be with the love of his life, Laura. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. In 2017, they relocated to Boydsville, where they continued their journey together.
Never one to sit still, Lee worked for three years at Bar-S Foods before finding a career he truly enjoyed with the United States Postal Service. As a rural route carrier, he faithfully served the communities of Altus, Elmer, Olustee, Duke, and Gould, becoming a familiar and welcome sight to many along his route.
Lee was a man of many talents and interests. His creative mind led him to establish Quartz Mountain 3D and Lakeside Woodworking, where he combined craftsmanship, technology, and imagination to create unique works that reflected his personality. He loved riding motorcycles, playing Xbox, and spending countless hours exploring the world of Skyrim and other games. A lifelong Star Wars enthusiast, one of his proudest accomplishments was building a fully functional remote-controlled R2-D2.
Those who knew Lee understood that life around him was never boring. He had a knack for causing just enough chaos to keep everyone laughing and on their toes. Beneath that mischievous sense of humor, however, was an incredibly generous and compassionate heart. He willingly stepped into the lives of Laura's children and foster children, loving and supporting them as his own. He taught his wife and children how to shoot firearms safely, shared his many hobbies with them, and created memories that will last for generations.
More than anything, Lee loved his family. He treasured every moment spent with his children and grandchildren and found great joy in watching them grow.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Laura Kime; his children, Erika Craig and husband Alex Black, Destiny Azevedo and husband Flavio, Timothy Kime, and Izziaha Post; and his cherished grandchildren, Lilly, Luca, Lincoln, Lanie, Bodee, Brantley, and Sadie, siblings, William Baker; Trisha Denson and husband, Danny; and Katherine Baker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Lee Baker, Sr., and Peggy (Everets) Baker and his sister-in-law Erin Baker.
Though his family grieves his loss, they find comfort in knowing that Lee's adventurous spirit, contagious laughter, creative mind, and loving heart will live on in the stories shared by all who knew him. His life was a reminder to embrace every day, laugh often, love deeply, and never stop creating.
He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
