Cleatus Claude Trayler, age 67, of Mangum, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 26, 2011, at his home, in Mangum.
Mr. Trayler was born on December 5, 1943, to Harry Garland and Nora Mae (Garton) Trayler. Living in Mangum all of his life, he graduated from Mangum High School in 1962. Shortly after graduation he helped with the construction of Republic Gypsum, at Duke, Oklahoma, and continued working there until his death, forty-seven years later. On September 17, 1993, he married Jody Riddle in McQueeney, Texas and they spent the next seventeen wonderful years together before his untimely death. Cleatus loved working at the Gypsum Plant, fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, Margaret, Etoyle, Geraldine, Freda and Harriet Ann, he is survived by his wife, Jody, of the home in Mangum; four children, Mark Trayler and wife Katrina of Altus, Melanie Atkins of Oklahoma City, Duane Avery and wife Shelly of Elk City and Thressa Owens and husband Chris of Brady, Texas; five grandchildren, Tonya Gonzales and husband Brian, Bryan Trayler, Cheyenne Trayler, Josh Atkins, Whitney Owens and Casey Owens; one great granddaughter, Vivian Gonzales; one sister, Josephine Noblitt of Mangum along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Cleatus Trayler will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2011, at The Church of New Beginnings with Pastor Shawn Laughlin officiating. Services are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
