Obituary for Clarence Raymond Stout Jr.
Clarence Raymond Stout Jr., 87, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in Altus. He was born September 15, 1925 in Jackson County, Oklahoma near Duke, to Clarence R. and Libby (Thornton) Stout. Raymond graduated from the Victory School System.

Raymond enlisted in the US Army September 27, 1944, serving in the First Calvary. He served in the Philippine Islands as a foot soldier for about one year. He was on board a ship anchored in the bay at Japan (ready to disembark) when the US and Japan signed the peace treaty. Raymond served with the occupation forces in Japan for one year and was discharged November 17, 1946 at Fort Sam Houston.

After proudly serving his country, Raymond continued his education. He attended Altus Junior College before attending Southwestern College in Weatherford where he received his Bachelors Degree in Education in January of 1950. In July of 1953, Raymond received a Masters Degree in Administration from Oklahoma University.

Raymond taught school in Roosevelt and Hooker, Oklahoma and at Pampa, Texas. He then joined Civil Service and served as an instructor and in Personnel Management until his retirement in 1981.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary (Talbot) Stout; one daughter, Laquita Halverson and husband Shelby of Sylacauga, AL; on son, Steven R. Stout of Altus, OK; grandsons, Bryce Halverson and wife Jessica, Brock Halverson and wife JJ, and Brent Halverson and wife Ashley; great-grandchildren, Emma Kate, Laura, Orion and Logan; two brothers, Leroy Stout and Don Stout; and by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joyce Miranda.

Services have been scheduled for 11:00 am, Monday, October 29, 2012 at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. David Player officiating. Interment will follow in the Victory Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
