Clara Jean Lehrman, age 68, of Granite, passed away Wednesday evening, January 13, 2010, at Mangum Community Hospital.
Mrs. Lehrman was born on March 6, 1941, in Elk City, Oklahoma to Harry and Laverne (Mize) Bowen. After graduating from Elk City School in 1959, she attended Southwestern College where she met the love of her life, Larry Lehrman. They were married on June 5, 1960, and continued living in Weatherford until 1962. Over the next several years, Larry"s job took them to many different locations, including Vicenza, Italy, Laurel Maryland and finally to Huntsville, Alabama from 1984 until 1988, where he retired. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Enterprise, Alabama where Larry and Clara owned and operated an automotive business for the next sixteen years. In 2005, they moved to Granite to enjoy their retirement. Clara spent her spare time quilting and being with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her father, she is survived by her husband Larry, of the home; her mother, Laverne Bowen, of the home, two sons, Don Lehrman of Dallas, Texas and Greg Lehrman and wife Mary of Blair; two grandchildren, Robyn Lehrman and Hannah Lehrman; one brother, Dean Bowen and wife Louise of Mabank, Texas; one uncle, Eli Mize of Edmond; one aunt, Virginia Martin of Edmond and many other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Clara Lehrman will be at 10 a.m., Saturday morning, January 16, 2010, at the Granite First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Hilton officiating. Interment will follow at the Granite City Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Granite.
