Obituary for Chloe Irene Box
Chloe Irene Box, age 79, of Snyder, Oklahoma, died Saturday, April 11th, 1981, night at Altus House Nursing Home.
Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday at the Church of Christ in Snyder, officiated by Kern Porter. Burial will be in Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Funeral Home.
Born July 24th, 1901 near Rocky, in what was then Oklahoma Indian Territory, she was married at Hobart on June 2, 1927 to the late William Robert Box, who died in 1957. She was a retired school teacher serving in excess of 41 years in that field. She attended Central State University, Abilene Christian College and took her teaching degree from Southwestern College in Weatherford. Her experience covered two years at Prairie View school in Kiowa County, two years at what was then District 47, east of Mt. Park and a total of 38 consecutive years in the Mt. Park School System. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include: one brother, J. B. (Buster) Willis of Snyder; two sisters, Mrs. Lola Davis and Mrs. Edrie Lanig, both of Mt. Park; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Verla Willis and Mrs. Willie Mae Willis also of Mt. Park; and a number of nieces and nephews.
