Obituary for Charlie Vern Hawn
Charlie Vern Hawn, 81, of Crossville, TN, peacefully passed away on May 1st surrounded by family, after a brief illness.
Charlie was born on August 30th, 194o to Ivory and Eva Hawn on the farmlands of the Cumberland Plateau in Crossville Tennessee. After Charlie graduated from Crossville High School in 1958, he joined the United States Air Force and embarked on a chapter of life that would take him around the world.
After spending 21 years in the Air Force, he retired after a distinguished career. He spent the majority of time after the military working for General Motors.
In 1958, he met Erma, the love of his life in Crossville Tennessee. Charlie and Erma married in 1960, had 4 boys, and never looked back.
Charlie retired in 2003 after 44 years of service in the military and private sector. While retired, Charlie and Erma travelled and loved visiting their 10 grandchildren and enjoyed the birth of their 12 great grandchildren.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Ivory & Eva, his sister Verl and his brother William. He is survived by his wife, Erma, and their 4 sons Steven, Gregory and (Kimberly), Anthony and (Geoff), Christopher and (Jennilynn), 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Jarrod, Todd, Corey, Aaron, Kristen, Kailey, James Morgan, Baylee, Nicole, 12 great grandchildren, Lynnan, Aiden, Charlee, Wayne, Paxton, Lawson, Knox, Ledger, Reagan, Austin, Lincoln, Elena, 3 brothers, Robert, James, Ray, 4 sisters, Edith, Dorine, Mamie, Bertha.
Services will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Altus Oklahoma at 7pm on May 4th.
Burial services will be at Fort Sill National Cemetery at 11am on May 5th.
