Charlie Thomas Hestand, 87, long time resident of Jackson County died at the English Village Nursing Home Saturday morning. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Monday at the Olustee First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. C.W. Ramsey and Rev. Everett Smalts. Burial will be in the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Mr. Hestand was born October 16, 1903 at Jack County, Texas and was the son of Newt and Minnie Hestand. He married Rosa Warren. He farmed most of his life and was associated with the Jackson County Soil Conservation Program over 10 years as a surveyor. He was a member of the Olustee First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years.

Mr. Hestand is survived by his wife Rosa Hestand, Altus, Oklahoma; children Jean Smith, Shawnee, Oklahoma; brother, Leonard Hestand, Altus, Oklahoma; sisters, Mabel Barrow, Altus, Oklahoma; Eva Drury, Olustee, Oklahoma; Elmetta Muse, Phoenix, Arizona.

Mr. Hestand was preceded in death by his mother and father.
