Obituary for Charlie Carl Griggs
Charlie Earl Griggs age 74 of Altus, Oklahoma died June 30, 1966 in Clinton, Oklahoma. He was born January 1, 1892 in North Carolina to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Patrick Griggs. He had been a resident of Jackson County since 1924. He retired from the State Highway Department in 1957. He also worked as Police Chief. Charlie married Maye Holtzclaw February 11, 1925. He was affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church.

Funeral services for Charlie Earl Griggs are scheduled for Thursday, September 1, 1966 at 2:00pm in the Tims Chapel officiated by Rev. Carl Blackburn. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the directions of Tims Funeral Home.

Charlie Earl Griggs is survived by his wife Maye of the home in Altus, Oklahoma; one son Harold Griggs, Lawton, Oklahoma; one daughter Mrs. Leona Allen, Altus, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five brothers, and one sister.
