Obituary for Charles R. Funk
Funeral Services for Charles R. "Chuck" Funk are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 1996 at Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery - Veterans Section. Rev. Richard Ventonis will officiate.
Mr. Funk passed away August 10th, 1996 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born February 7th, 1934 in French Camp, California to Joe and Ida (Koenig) Funk. Mr. Funk had lived in Altus for over 35 years. Mr. Funk married Gayle McCarty on November 7, 1984 in Vernon, TX. Mr. Funk retired from the United States Air Force as a Tech Sergeant and then he served as a Deputy Sheriff under Joe Boaldin for 12 years, as the Child Enforcement Officer under Steve Suttle for 5-1/2 years and was currently working for Don Kizziar restoring classic cars. Lowell Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include: his wife, Gayle Funk of the home; five children, Valerie Cody of Wichita, KS, Toni Bennett of Wichita, KS, Lynda Moreau and husband Brad of Altus, OK, Carolyn Adcock and husband Todd of Titusville, FL and Heather Thompson of Altus, OK; five brothers, all of California, John Funk, Jim Funk, Dan Funk, George Funk and Ted Funk; four sisters, Lois Medrano of California, Doris Susich of California, Mary Girdner of South Carolina and Helen Beoshanz of California; four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; a daughter, Diana Lynn Funk and one brother.
