Obituary for Charles Morris Rook
Charlie Morris Rook 75 of Altus, passed away Monday evening, January 13, 1997, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Memorial services have been scheduled for 2;m Friday at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Dave Brummett and Curtis Davis officiating.
Charles was born February 23, 1921, in Sayre, Oklahoma. He was the son of Marion and Bertha (Sewell) Rook. He married Rebecca Stroud July 3, 1948 in Oklahoma City, Ok. They have lived in the Altus area for 25 years where Charlie owned Charlie Rook Accounting business. He was a member of the First Christian Church and one of the first Republicans to serve Altus as City Councilman. Mr. Rook was a past president of the Kiwanas Club, a member of the V.F.W. and a longtime Altus businessman. Charlie was sem-retired, and loved to golf and spend his spare time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Rebecca Rook of the home; children; dana Craig of Altus, Victor Rook and Aimee of Norman, Oklahoma; brother M.B. Rook and wife Merle of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sisters Grace Nuttall of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Gloria Cox of Ada, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, David and Becky Craig of Altus, and Sarah, Amanda, and Evanglynn Rook of Norman, Oklahoma; 1 sister-in-law, Joyce Couk of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 1 brother-in-law, Harold Graham of Chandler, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, 1 infant sister; 1 brother, Leroy Rook, 1 son-in-law, Sam Craig.
