Obituary for Charles Ferris
Charles Dell Farris (Fisher) age 59 former Altus resident died April 18, 2001 in Belton, Texas from a massive stroke.
He was born June 20, 1941 in Mineral Wells, Texas to Angie Marie Fisher and Floyd Gus Fisher, Sr.
He owned a car dealership in Altus for over ten and years and in Belton, Texas for five years. He also owned a bail bondsman business for fifteen and was a security officer for two years. Charles served with the United States Air Force for four years. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Gloria Ferris of Belton, Texas, eleven children, Sherman Lee Richards of Altus, Oklahoma, Carol Richards of Belton, Texas, Armeta Lafaye Richards, of Belton, Texas, Claudell Ferris, Vanessa Ferris, Charles Dell Ferris, Jr., Louis Ferris, Melvin Earl Ferris, Reginald Lamont Ferris, Miriam Gail Ferris, Angie Marie Ferris all of Belton, Texas; twenty grandchildren and two great grandchildren, seven brothers and sisters, Lazel Fisher of Altus, Oklahoma, Alice Marie Fosher of Altus, Oklahoma, Bernice Fisher-Dejean of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Martha Fisher-Shelly of Jonesboro, Georgia, Sylvia Fisher of Temple, Texas, Rachel Fisher of Altus, Oklahoma, Floyd Fisher, Jr., also of Altus, Oklahoma. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Angie Marie Fisher and one son Lenard Earl Ferris.
Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2001 at 10:00am at the Altus City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
