Obituary for Cecil Roy Neel
Cecil Roy Neel, age 78, and longtime Altus resident died on Wednesday, July 1st, 1998 in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Cecil was born on August 12th, 1919 in Missouri to J.F. and Clara Jane (Jackson) Neel. Cecil attended school at Humphreys and Ozark. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. Upon being honorably discharged he came back to Altus where he worked as a carpenter for many years. He later married Mary Marney on September 26, 1974.
Cecil loved sports and loved to fish. He will be greatly missed by every life he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife Mary of the home in Altus; one daughter, Easter Smith of Reinzi, Missouri; three granddaughters, Samantha Jackson of Crosby, Missouri, Mary Clark of Reinzi, Missouri and Lena Smith of Reinzi, Missouri; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Neel of Del City, Oklahoma and Jimmy Neel of Marysville, Washington; one sister, Pearlene Duke of Blair, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be Monday, July 6, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Altus V.A. Cemetery.
