He is survived by daughter, Carla Goldsmith and husband Larry of Dallas, Texas of, Monty Smith of Magnolia, Texas; daughter, Kim Banister and husband Gary of Flower Mound, Texas; and daughter, Melody Brewer of Rockwall, Texas. Carl cherished his roll as Granddaddy to nine grandchildren, Shelby, Mycah, Whitney, Gatlin, Wade, Marcy, Landon, LeeAnn and Dana; and two great-grandchildren, Camrym and Chloe. He also leaves behind one loving sister, Katie Lou Tomlinson of Concordia, Kansas; sisterin-law, Virginia Sue Smith of Crowell, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Carl's lifetime was spent doing what he loved most, farming and ranching. Being outdoors, working with horses and cattle gave him his greatest joy.
