Brenden Kim EWING
Kim Ewing, age 58, passed away May 6, 2014 at Wewoka Healthcare Center in Wewoka, OK. Kim was born January 17, 1956 to J.R. and Jimmie Jean Derryberry Ewing. Kim remained in the care of his loving parents, assisting his dad with farming and the neon sign business until 1995 when he moved to Oakridge Home in Wewoka, OK. Kim resided at Oakridge Home until recently, moving to Wewoka Healthcare Center. Kim enjoyed collecting treasures such as different types of ball caps, t-shirts and office supplies, particularly pens, pencils and paper. Kim loved to write and draw. He enjoyed being with his family, especially at holiday gatherings. With his infectious smile and engaging personality, he developed many special friendships over the years and will be greatly missed.
Kim is preceded in death by his parents, J.R. and Jimmie Ewing, his grandparents, Arthur Ray and Bessie Vestal Ewing and Willis Landrum and Willene Faye Woodall Derryberry. Survivors include one sister, Toni Donice Ewing Frioux (Chuck) of Norman, OK; two nephews, Joshua Frioux of Norman OK and Christopher Frioux (Carrie) of Mustang, OK; two uncles, Larry Derryberry (Gale) of Edmond, OK and Gary Derryberry (Sharon) of Choctaw, OK. Also surviving are cousins, Darren Derryberry (Cindy) of Oklahoma City, OK, Dara Derryberry Olsen (Randy) of Edmond, OK, Brandon Derryberry (Billy) of Choctaw, OK and Dr. Broc Derryberry (Anglea) of Choctaw, OK.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday May 10 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus, OK with Dr. Jeff Moore, First Baptist Church of Altus officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 10:00 am Saturday at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma, Special Olympics Oklahoma, or to a charity of choice.
