Obituary for Brenda Lea Watson
Brenda Watson, age 66, a longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the United Regional Medical Center in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Brenda was born in Bar Harbor, Maine on January 5, 1957 to her parents Russell and Marita Roscover. Brenda was born into a military family that kept her on the move at an early age. The family was stationed at numerous Air Force Duty Stations including California, France, Germany, and Colorado. Finally, the family landed at Altus Air Force Base, Altus, Oklahoma where Brenda attended Altus Schools and was a proud graduate from Altus High School class of 1975. Shortly after high school, Brenda eloped with Kyle Watson in Vernon, Texas and they were united in marriage on September 24, 1976 and they settled in Altus where they have resided the rest of their married life. Brenda began her work with Mark Coke on August 24, 1976 and she worked there over 46 years until her illness forced her to retire. When she was younger, Brenda loved playing catch with her brother, Tim, and later with Joel. She could twirl a mean baton and played the flute. Brenda loved riding with Kyle and all of their friends, and at one point she rode her own Harley. She was always down for a good shopping adventure. Brenda loved spending time with her husband Kyle and her family members and friends and she will be missed very much.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Marita Roscover; her son, Joel Watson; her brother, Timothy Roscover; nephew, Michael Watson; and her father-in-law, Don Watson.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Kyle Watson of their home in Altus; two sisters, Diane Cooper and Misty Morse; mother-in-law, Wanda Watson; brothers-in-law, Steve Watson and Donald Watson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved their Auntie dearly; many other family members, and friends.
