Obituary for Bonita Faye Combs
Bonita (Murphy) Combs, age 65, a long-time resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, May 12, 2008 in Altus, Oklahoma.
Bonita was born in Altus, Oklahoma on August 21, 1942 to John Benson "J.B." and Nannie Pearl (Shook) Murphy. She graduated from Altus High School in 1960 and in 1961 she married Jackie Ray Combs at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Altus and they were married for over forty-six years before her death. Bonita loved taking care of her family and helping her mother and her sister. She was actively involved with her church in Lathrop, Missouri and was very committed with her children's school years and served as a PTA President. She also enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing, working puzzles, shopping, and especially shopping for her children. Bonita was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend and she will be missed very much.
Preceded in death by her father, J.B. Murphy, Bonita is survived by her mother, Nannie Pearl Murphy of Altus; her husband, Jackie Ray of the home; one son, Michael Lynn Combs of Amarillo, Texas; two daughters, Tonya Rene (Combs) Deines and her husband James of Bayard, Nebraska; Angela Dawn Combs of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Sheridan Murphy of Altus; Janet Scheller and her husband Mike of Seminole, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Allison Willson; Ashley Deines; special friend, Linda Felty of Quanah, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Services for Bonita (Murphy) Combs will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family of Bonita (Murphy) Combs will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
