Bobby Kent Landers, age 69, of Granite, passed away Sunday evening, September 2, 2012, at Integris Baptist Medical Center, in Oklahoma City, surrounded by his family who loved him so much.
Mr. Landers was born in Borger, Texas on April 19, 1943, to Horace K. and Julia B. (McCabe) Landers. While attending school in Borger, he met the love of his life, Paula Caskey, and they were married on December 16, 1960, in Borger, and spent the next fifty-one wonderful years together before his death. At age seventeen, Bobby began working in the Oil Fields and continued there for the next forty-two years as a roustabout and production owner. In 2002, his health began to fail and he retired, enjoying fishing, gardening, working with his flowers and being involved with his grandchildren whom he dearly loved.
Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Fred Landers in February 2012, he is survived by his wife Paula, of the home, in Granite; two children, Lesa McCown and husband Sidney of Wichita Falls, Texas and Kevin Landers and wife Melinda of Boydville; six grandchildren, Angela Berry and husband Casey of Granite, Britney Martinez of Granite, Cylee Landers of Granite, Amanda Miedel of Granite, Christina Reams and husband Michael of Amarillo, Texas and Jason McCown and wife Tricia of Borger, Texas; nine great grandchildren, Jace, Quade, Cali, Hayden, Braylen, Rayden, Lander, Dara and Emery; one sister, Phyllis Ann Busby and husband Dale of Fritch, Texas; two sisters-in-law Veda Landers of Borger, Texas and Julie McMahan and husband James of Kingwood, Texas along with many other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Bobby Landers will be Thursday, September 6, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at the Granite First Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in Granite Rock Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Granite.
The family will greet friends at Greer Funeral Home, in Granite, on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, from 5 until 6 p.m.
