Bobby Joe Richardson, age 67, of Mangum and formerly Altus, Oklahoma passed away early Friday morning at his residence.
Bobby was born in Altus on October 25, 1947. He went to school in Altus, Oklahoma. Bobby married the love of his life, Candy Woolbright, on February 18, 1971, and they spent almost 44 wonderful years together. He worked for Jack Barnes distributorship and then moved on to Wonder Bread where he was a route salesman for 21 years. In his retirement years, he enjoyed umpiring high school softball. Bobby served as City Councilman for the City of Altus from 2003 to 2006. He was currently serving as a City Commissioner for the City of Mangum. Bobby enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan always wearing the colors orange and black for his beloved Mangum Tigers. He loved spending his time with his children and grandchildren and never missed a ball game. He was a member of the Mangum Church of Christ. Bobby was loved by many friends whose lives he touched and he will be missed by many.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Georgie Richardson of Altus. He is survived by his wife Candy; son Richy and wife Carolyn of Mangum; daughter Jill Graham and husband Jake of Yukon; six grandchildren, Kaley Moran and husband Matt; Levi Richardson and wife Chelsea; Jameson Richardson; Jacob, Kaleb and Luke Graham; three great grandchildren, Kennedy, Elijah and Clementine Moran; one sister Barbara Jean Penoyer of Odessa, Texas; four nieces, Shelley, Elaine, Natalie and Lisa and their families along with many other family and friends.
The family will greet friends from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Greer Funeral Home in Mangum, Oklahoma.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am, Monday February 9, 2015 at the Mangum High School Gymnasium with Todd McRay officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Bobby can be made to the Mangum Athletic Department.
