Altus resident, Bill W. Leflett, age 79, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital, in Oklahoma City.
Bill Leflett was born on October 5, 1936, in Sentinel, Oklahoma to Bill and Lila Melba (Holland) Leflett. He was the youngest of four brothers.
Bill was a Bearcat at Hobart High School where he met the love of his life, Gloria Kay Blackburn. They were married on December 10, 1953, in Vernon, Texas.
Bill joined the Air Force and served at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio. He later attended Southwestern Oklahoma State and afterwards moved to Altus where he opened Bill"s Cycle Village and F & M Television. Bill secured his insurance brokers license and retired from New York Life Insurance. After retirement, Bill drove a school bus for Altus Public Schools.
Bill was an active member of First Baptist Church and drove in the Bus Ministry.
Bill dedicated his life to family, especially his beautiful wife, Gloria. He set the standard for how a man should love his family. He taught his children to love God and family above all else. His legacy of love and perseverance will live forever and be passed on through his family.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Leflett, of the home; his children, Debra Ebel and husband Richard of Arlington, Texas, Terri Speer and husband Doug of Altus, Scott Leflett and wife Tammy of Murphy, Texas; his six grandchildren, Brandon Ebel, Brody Ebel, Jared Speer, Kaylee Speer and Reagan, Parker & Reid Leflett and his four great grandchildren, Blake, Audrey, Samantha and Rowen.
Funeral services for Bill Leflett will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016, at the First Baptist Church, in Altus. The family will greet friends at Lowell-Tims on Wednesday evening from 6 until 7 p.m.
