Billy Joe Kessler, 71, a resident of Mangum, Oklahoma passed away on October 22, 2022, at his home.
Billy was December 9th, 1950, in Hinton, Oklahoma to Lloyd Dale Kessler and Mildred Faye (Gilbert) Kessler. At a young age, the Kessler family moved to Amarillo, Texas. Following his high school graduation, Billy enrolled in truck driving school. Being a truck driver was Billy's passion he loved to travel the country, visit his fellow truckers along the way, and help keep the country moving with each delivery. He worked as a truck driver for over forty-three years before he retired due to medical ailments. He primarily worked for Alliance trucking out of Oklahoma City.
On a personal level, Billy was a fun-loving jokester, who enjoyed riding motorcycles, shooting pool golfing, and drinking coffee with his friends and family. Billy was also famous for his amazing fried chicken that he would make for his family.
In 2020, Billy moved to Mangum, Oklahoma to live with his daughter, Angela Leamon. during this time they developed a very close bond having coffee together each morning. They developed a special bond sharing stories of the road.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Lloyd Kessler; Mother, Mildred Kessler; Brother, Tommy Kessler; Sister, Gayle Waggoner.
Left to honor's Billy memory are his Son, Dale Kessler and wife two daughters, Bonnie Kessler, Angela Leamon; three sisters, Carol Linton, Linda Warren, Judy Marshall, twelve grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.
Private family services will be held at later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
