Obituary for Billy Guthrie
Billy Guthrie, age 61 of Hollis, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Billy was born in Altus on June 9, 1959 where he attended Altus High School Class of 1977. Billy married Roxane Armstrong on February 11, 1977 in Altus and they have enjoyed over forty-four years of marriage together. Billy started work for the United Grocery Stores at and early age and after getting married Billy and Roxane moved to Walters, Oklahoma where Billy was the assistant manger at the Walters United. A few years later the family moved back to Altus where Billy was the assistant manger at the Altus United on Broadway and later Billy took the job as manager of the Hollis United where he has resided since 1989. Billy enjoyed social time with all his friends at the cabin, hunting and fishing, playing dominoes, and spending time with his granddaughter, Braelyn.
Preceded in death by his parents Colonel Stillwell Guthrie and Willie Sadie (Albright) Guthrie; three brothers, Robert Guthrie; Johnny Guthrie; and Rodney Guthrie. Billy is survived by his wife Roxane Guthrie of their home in Hollis; two sons, Brandon Guthrie of Lawton; and Cody Guthrie and wife Tammy of Lawton; one brother, Harold Guthrie and wife Phyllis of Florida; two sisters, Melba Joyce Donaldson; and Sandi Hawley; grandchildren, Braelyn Guthrie of Duncan; Xavier Guthrie of Lawton; and Lola Cratty of California; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Lucille Armstrong of Altus; brothers-in-law, Willy Armstrong and wife Kathy of Altus; and Eric Jason Armstrong of California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
Celebration of Life services will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the Harmon County Funeral Chapel in Hollis.
