Obituary for Billie W. Roark
In the early morning hour of Thursday, October 31st, 2019, Billie W. Roark passed on to the presence of his heavenly Father. Billie was born on September 15th, 1952 in Hobart, Oklahoma to William and Dorothy (Norman) Roark. He attended Hobart Public Schools. On February 22nd, 1971 he married his loving wife Jessie Darlene Dodd, they raised one son, Billy Jess Roark and one daughter, Ginger Darlene Roark-Hill.

Billie was a hard-working man his entire life. He began working at Toma's grocery store in Hobart, Ok. at the young age of 8 years old. After marriage, he and Jessie made their home in Mangum, Ok. where he worked for Puckett's grocery store. He moved his family to Altus, Ok. in 1972 where he was the meat market manager for United grocery store. He later worked for Gilbert Central Construction Company until his retirement. His hard work ethic promoted him from a general laborer to job superintendent. He traveled all around the United States managing the construction of roads and bridges.

He was self-taught, talented carpenter. There was not anything that he could not build with his own two hands. He was an avid fisherman. His prize mount was his 31-pound stripper he caught in Lake Texoma. He loved the water and his favorite place to take his grandsons was Tom Steed Lake. This is where he found his peace, just floating and letting the sun shine down on him. His biggest joy came from attending and watching every event, game, livestock show, shooting competition or just anything his grandsons were involved in. He loved them passionately and was so proud of them. Billie was also known to be little ornery and a practical joker. He enjoyed pulling off a good joke.

Billie was preceded in death by his father, William Roark and his mother, Dorothy Anderson and, brother Jonathan Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Jessie Roark, his two children, Billy and his wife Kris Roark, his daughter Ginger Roark-Hill and Devin Hill, his beloved grandsons, Tristian William Wayne Roark, Koda Jess Roark, and Chandler Haden Hill, a sister, Mary Roark, brother, randy Anderson and wife Karen, sister, Anita Rogers, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
