Obituary for Billie Louise Taylor
Billie Louise Taylor, age 80, of Altus, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord Thursday, September 20, 2001 in Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Billie, a lifelong resident of Altus, was born in Oklahoma City, on April 27, 1921 to Arthur and Alva (Granny) Hodges Hicks.
She was united in marriage on September 5, 1937 to her beloved husband, Clyde D. Taylor. She was a devoted homemaker and wife. As well as being dedicated to The Salvation Army Church, she was a faithful member of the Ladies Home League. She will also be remembered to so many friends and family as the "The Doll Lady.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Delbert Taylor; one son Robert Larry Taylor; her mother, Mrs. Alva (Granny) Hicks; her father, Mr. Arthur Hicks; and three brothers and one great granddaughter Rushina Thornton.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs Donna A. Jenkins and son-in-law, Lee of Altus, Oklahoma, Mrs Mary (Lou) Kelly of Vernon, Texas; two sons, Mr. Gene Taylor and daughter-in-law Leda of Tampa, Florida, and Mr. Richard Taylor of Lawton, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren, Nancy Roden, Richard Heath, Connie Gibson, Tony Jenkins, Derek Jenkins, Cindy Lenard, Bobby V. Vaughn, Ron Vaughn, Dale Vaughn, Melinda Taylor, Gina Taylor, Gene Taylor Jr., Jimmy Taylor, Tracy Kein, and Lisa Bolles; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; a beloved sister, Mrs. Bobbie McClusky and a brother-in-law, Mac, of Beaumont, Texas; sister-in-law Shirley Hicks of Waxahachi, Texas; and a host of other friends and neighbors.
She will be missed, but we know she is in heaven and at peace.
Services, with Captain Ernest Hull officiating, are set for 2:00pm Saturday September 22 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at the Blair Cemetery.
