Bettye loved spending time with her family. Her church family was also very important to her. She spent many years serving as a teacher for Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, as Church Clerk and Church Treasurer, and as a member of Building Committees. After retirement, she often worked on the landscape at the church and cleaned up after the work crews at the new Family Life Center. At church events, her wonderful recipes were much sought-after. She ministered and blessed many with meals delivered to their homes in time of need. She was a prayer warrior who was quick to pray with and for others. Truly she was a woman of great faith.
The family will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home on Friday from 6 until 7 p.m.
Online tributes may be made to the family at www.Lowell-Tims.com
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m., Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow at the Martha Cemetery.
Bettye loved the Lord with her whole heart. Her utmost desire was for all to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to understand the only way to have eternal life is through Him. Her favorite verse was II Corinthians 5:21: God made Christ who had no sin to be sin for us.
