Obituary for Betty "Jean" Dillahunty
Betty "Jean" (Phillips) Dilahunty, age 79, longtime
resident of Mangum, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Mangum Regional Medical Center.
Jean was born on January 24, 1943 in Los Angeles, California to her parents A.G. Allen and Artie M. Allen. She attended El Rancho schools in Pico Rivera and was very active in the drill team. In 1958 Jean met the love of her life, Freddie M. Dillahunty. To this union 5 children were born, Debi, David, Chris, Denise, and Darci. In 1981 Fred and Jean established their home in Mangum, Oklahoma. In between raising a family, Jean owned and operated Mexi-Calis for 13 years. She went to work for Quartz Mountain Resort for several years. Jean ended her working career at the Oklahoma State Reformatory until January 19, 2022. Jean enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, crafting, and she was a perfectionist with everything she did.
Jean loved her family and she took great care of them.
Jean's home cooked meals were her family's favorites
and she will be missed very much.
Jean is preceded in death by her dad, A.G. Allen;
her infant son, Chris Dillahunty; mother-in-law,
Lazelle Dillahunty; father-in-law, Fred Dillahunty;
and her sister-in-law, Sandy Dillahunty.
Jean is survived by her mother, Artie Allen; her husband, Freddie M. Dillahunty; four children, Debi Davis and husband Tony; David Dillahunty and wife Sarah; Denise Webb and husband Scotty; and Darci Gable and husband Tyler; nine grandchildren, Toby Knapp and wife Mandy, Tara Zachary and husband Zac, and Tori Kerbo and husband Devin; Jordan Harmon and husband Ty, and Chris Dillahunty; Falyn Webb and Fischer Webb; Asher Gable and Ayden Gable; nine great grandchildren, Clayton Knapp, Cambry Knapp, Conner Knapp, Conley Knapp, Cale Zachary, Caylor Zachary, Cooper Kerbo, and Cannon Kerbo; and Mesa Harmon; brother-in-law, Gary Dillahunty; three nieces, Deanna, Darla, and Dena; as well as
numerous other family members and many friends.
The family will greet friends at visitation from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Greer Funeral Home in Mangum.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the Red River Cowboy Church in Mangum with interment following at Roselawn Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
