Obituary for Bernabe Jorge Jr.
Bernabe Jorge Jr., 58, of Altus, went to be with his Heavenly Father Wednesday, January 16, 2013.
Bernabe Jorge Jr., the son of Bernabe Jorge Cruz and Juana Perez, was born September 28, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Fort Hamilton High School, in Brooklyn, where he obtained his high school diploma in 1973. Bernabe married Rita Hillinworth, on May 22, 1993, in San Antonio, Texas. He served in the United States Air Force in the early 1970"s where he was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base.
Bernabe later moved to Altus, Oklahoma, to work as a Civil Service professional at Altus Air Force Base, where he worked as a mechanic on C-5 and C-17 planes. He later retired in 2006, and went to work at the Falcon Inn for a few years. He later went to work at Wal-Mart from 2008 to 2010, and then at the Stripes Convenience Store where he was presently employed.
Bernabe Jorge Jr. was known as a quiet, private man who loved his family, especially the light of his life, his son Bernabe Jorge III, of Altus, Oklahoma. He was loved by many friends and family.
Preceded in death by his parents, Bernabe is survived by his wife, Rita Jorge, of McKinney, Texas; his son, Bernabe Jorge III, of Altus; step-son Zachary Rocha of San Antonio, Texas; and his sister Cindie Jorge of San Antonio, Texas; and one nephew Chaim Garcia of San Antonio, Texas.
A Memorial Service has been scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Centennial Memorial Center located at the Altus City Cemetery with Rev. David Player officiating.
