Benena F. Crockett, 74, of Altus died Thursday in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She was born March 12 1919 in Ballinger, Texas to the late Jim and Effie Faye Taylor. She had been a resident of Altus and the Jackson County area for over 70 years.
She married Jack W. Crockett August 25, 1939 in Mangum, Oklahoma. Mrs Crockett was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a long time member of the Eastern Star.
Services have been scheduled for 10:00am Monday, December 27, 1993 at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with the Rev. Michael D'Annecy officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Survivors include husband Jack Crockett of Altus, Oklahoma; children, Jack Crockett, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; James R. Crockett, Jr. and wife Karen, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sisters Mary Ellen Estes of Eufala, Oklahoma; Marlene Pyka of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Dorothy Corpus of Sherman, Texas; two grandchildren, Michael Shawn Crockett, Hillary Anne Crockett.
Preceded in death by parents, one brother, J.E. Taylor in 1993.
